Illinois sues Chicago-area roofing firm
Illinois’ attorney general has filed a lawsuit alleging a suburban Chicago contractor solicited roofing contracts without a license and for work he either failed to do or did poorly.
The lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court this week names the owner of Roof Medics and Best Roofing, Gary Phillips.
It says consumers repeatedly complained about leaky roofs but the Mount Prospect-based contractor often failed to return their calls. Later, he allegedly refused to return their money.
